About Medfield
Our Partnerships
Medfield Heights Elementary School is a small non-Title I school with less than 350 students, located in Northwest Baltimore City. While small in size, Medfield Heights ES is known throughout the city for high academic achievement, extensive parent and community involvement, and a diverse student population.
On the 2008 Maryland State Assessment, Medfield Heights was ranked 9th in math and 16th in reading among all Baltimore City Elementary/K-8 schools. Medfield's proficiency rate was 89.3 % on both state tests. Additionally, 85% of Medfield's second graders passed both the Stanford 10 Reading and Math Assessments. Based on test scores, Medfield Heights is consistently ranked as one of the top 10 Baltimore City elementary schools, and outpaces city and state test averages.
One of the school's keys to success is an extensive parent and community component that supports and enhances the Medfield community. Every school day, parents assist students and teachers in the lunchroom, the classroom and on the playground. Featuring over thirty community partnerships with Baltimore businesses and institutions, Medfield Heights relies on these relationships for its continued academic excellence.
Medfield Heights' student population is comprised of children from fourteen countries and five continents. This diverse school community affords students opportunities to learn life-long lessons of cooperation, tolerance and respect. The academic excellence of the school allows students to attend top middle schools and eventually go on to some of Baltimore City’s best private and public high schools.
